The Choir School: groups, rehearsals, dates and location

All choir practices take place in the Scuola Media 1 music hall, Via Lavizzari, Bellinzona.
The practice schedule follows the school calendar, from September to June.
Course 1: beginner level for boys and girls 8 to 10 years of age.
Basic singing instruction and tuning development, with piano accompaniment.
Practice day: Friday, from 5:20 to 6:20 p.m.
Course 2: young people in their second year with the choir having already completed course 1.
Singing instruction and solfège.
Practice day: Tuesday, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Course 3: intermediate level between course 2 and the Elite choir.
Practice day: Thursday, from 5:30 to 6:55 p.m. (together with the Elite choir).
Elite choir: for young people from 12 to 20 years of age.
Instruction in Gregorian chant and polyphonic singing, sacred and profane.
Practice days: Monday and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:55 p.m..
Supplementary practice days before concerts, on Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Membership fees

Those who are interested in participating in the choir, can simply come to one of the rehearsals or contact director Eros Beltraminelli directly. Families of the choristers are asked to make a voluntary contribution to help cover the expenses of music instruction.
